During the execution part one and two of the Drawing with Nature Series, the shape content of each of the photographs came to my attention, in some photographs more than in others.
I printed out those which had the most discernable shapes and started to draw on them, tracing the easily visible edges with a pen that was wider than I would have liked but it still did the job. The only problem with using that type of pen was that the ink from the photograph would eventually clog up the tip of the pen and the ink would flow less consistently.
By the time I was close to finishing this group of studies, I had figured out how to work with the pens more efficiently; but I used a lot of pens.
These drawings were tedious. They would demand attention to every curve, every shadow, and everything that happened to appear in the photo. Some shapes I could not trace around or I simply missed them or they were too out-of-focus to warrant my guessing at where the edges are.
Out of two-hundred and seven pictures, I chose only forty-four in which the shapes popped out enough for me to enhance. They are truly studies for other imagined pieces. They are shown below in four groups of eleven. The titles are visible below the image.
