
These two large drawings are a culmination of months of dwelling on the desire to tell my personal story in coalescing the visual aspects that have been touched in the development of my work.
Both “themes” originated from the last of the Unique Series where somehow the contours of one leaf and one branch found their way into the same drawing. One never knows why these juxtapositions occur. It seems logical but this is art I am talking about and the reasoning behind imagery coming together is intuitive rather than logical.
Perhaps I will continue the tell the story about the story of my work. But I think to pause for a bit and direct my attention to making art that is calming and completely different.

The second drawing deals with a motif of the branch. Overlapping Branches was arduous because the central part of the piece deals with all black on black lines, which are hard to see even in the best light. The stencil I used to trace the outline of the branch comes from a photograph of a dead branch which was given to me when I first moved into smaller home. The branch triggered the first drawing series I made after my studio was up and running.
